Born September 4, 2004, in Brooklyn, New York, United States, Cadeau is the son of James Cadeau and Michelle Cadeau.

Cadeau started his high school education at the Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, New Jersey where he played for the school basketball team.

During his freshman season at Bergen Catholic High School, Cadeau was a starting point guard and averaged 11.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.

He also led his team to a 7–2 record and was named to the MaxPreps Freshman All-American First Team.

After missing his entire sophomore season due to a high ankle sprain he suffered during a scrimmage against Gill St. Bernard’s School in December 2021, Cadeau transferred to Link Academy in Branson, Missouri, ahead of his junior year.

Following his high school career at Link Academy, Cadeau committed to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to play collegiate basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels under coach Hubert Davis.

As a freshman with Tar Heels, Cadeau was named the 2023-24 Preseason ACC Rookie of the Year.
