Professional tennis player from Ukraine named Elina Mykhailivna Svitolina had a successful career overall. She achieved outstanding ranks with the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), coming in third in singles and 108th in doubles. Svitolina won 17 singles matches on the WTA Tour during her career and placed second three times.

Svitolina started to rise in July 2013, when she entered the top 50 rankings globally. She kept moving up, breaking into the top 20 in June 2015, and eventually making it to the top 10 in May 2017.
With this accomplishment, she surpassed her countrywoman Alona Bondarenko to become the first female Ukrainian to rank in the top 10.
Notably, Svitolina’s rise in the rankings was matched by a string of triumphs; between 2013 and 2017, she won five more WTA Tour titles. She entered the top 10 because of her excellent performance in 2017 when she won five titles.

Her notable triumphs include the 2018 WTA Finals and three of the five Premier 5-level competitions: the Canadian Open, the Italian Open, and the Dubai Tennis Championships.
She also won two doubles championships at the Istanbul Cup in 2014 and 2015. In 2019, Svitolina put on among her best Grand Slam tournament performances, making it all the way to the semifinals at Wimbledon and the US Open.
Svitolina’s 2021 win of the bronze medal in women’s singles at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics was another noteworthy accomplishment.
