According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a gunman opened fire in a Texas elementary school on Tuesday, May 24 killing at least 19 students and two teachers.

The suspect Identified as Rolando Ramos shot his grandmother, who was hospitalised in serious condition, before driving toward the school, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Lt. Chris Olivarez.
After crashing nearby, he went to the school and opened fire, according to Olivarez, who spoke at a press conference at the scene.” He started shooting at everyone in front of him,” the lieutenant explained.
The shooter was wearing body armour and wielding a rifle, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Authorities said the attack was reported as a mass casualty incident shortly after 11:30 a.m.
