The story begins in November 2014, on the picturesque beach of the Chilean town Zapallar, where Izzo exchanged vows with Eli Roth. Their union was not just a marriage but a meeting of chance and circumstance, sparked by mutual friend and director Nicolás López during the production of “Aftershock” in 2012.
Introduced to each other in the midst of filmmaking, Izzo and Roth discovered a connection that would lead to a whirlwind romance. Their love story continued through the filming of “Aftershock,” a movie that played a pivotal role in the development of their relationship.
Izzo, who originally had a small role in the film, became the lead after Roth learned about her fluency in English. As they spent the entire shooting process together, a profound bond blossomed.
However, the pages of their story took a turn in July 2018 when Roth and Izzo filed for divorce. The legal process concluded in August 2019, marking the end of their marital journey. Despite the separation, both Izzo and Roth have moved forward in their respective lives.
