Election 2024: EC aims to announce presidential results within 72 hours after polls

The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has revealed its plan to announce the results of the presidential election within three days after December 7, 2024, if all goes well.

The Commission seeks to guarantee prompt announcement of the presidential results within maximum of three days, but there is no legal obligation for the EC to do so.

Additionally, the EC announced that nominations for presidential and parliamentary candidates for this year’s election will be open from September 9 to September 19.

The provisional voters’ register is scheduled to be provided to political parties between July 9 and July 18, 2024.

Furthermore, the ballot positions for presidential candidates will be determined on September 23, 2024. Special voting for selected professionals is set for December 2, with the main election scheduled for December 7.
