Elaine Lui is a Canadian television personality, blogger, author, and journalist. She is the daughter of Judy Yeung and Bernard Lui.

Judy and Bernard, her parents, emigrated to Canada from Hong Kong in 1970. They did odd jobs like dishwashing and cleaning hotel rooms.
Her father eventually got steady work as an accountant. Lui’s parents split when she was six years old, and her mother relocated to Hong Kong. Lui spent many summers visiting her mother in Hong Kong.
When she was 16, her parents reconciled. She attended the Toronto French School for middle and high school and graduated from Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute.
