Who Is Ovidio Guzman Lopez?
Ovidio Guzmán, also known as “The Mouse” is a Mexican drug lord and leader of the Sinaloa Cartel Los Chapitos, one of the largest drug-trafficking cartels in the world.
Born on March 29, 1990, in Badiraguato, Mexico, Guzman, is the son of former most-wanted drug lord Joaquín Guzmán, also known as El Chapo.
His father, El Chapo, is currently serving a life sentence in the US, over drug trafficking and money laundering allegations.

Guzman became involved in his father’s illegal business as a teenager and has since led the group since his father’s arrest.
Guzmán was first arrested in 2019, but was released in no time, after his arrest sparked off several gun battles across the city and civilian deaths began to rise daily.
One of the officers, Eduardo N, who aided the arrest of Guzman was said to be assassinated at the time.
On 5 January 2023, Guzmán was rearrested in the Jesús María district of Culiacán.
His arrest triggered a violent riot by gang members who mounted road blocks, burnt down vehicles and shot down two passenger airplanes preparing to take off at the airport.
