Eileen Saki Cause of Death

Japanese-born American actress, Eileen Saki has been reported dead at the age of 79. According to sources, she died of pancreatic cancer on Monday, May 1, 2023.

She was best known for her role as Rosie the Bar owner in the tv show M*A*S*H. She starred in nine episodes of the series. It was aired from 1972 to 1983. M*A*S*H is based on the Mobile Army Surgical Hospital that cared for patients during the Korean War.

Her co-star on *M*A*S*H, Jeff Maxwell shared his condolences after her death was announced.

Our sweet Eileen. Our sassy Rosie. She read every email and responded to as many as she could. Our sweet, sweet Eileen. How we love you. How we will miss you,” he wrote in a Facebook post.

Born on November 18, 1943, she developed an interest in film due to her father who worked in the theatre and also worked as a gardener when they moved to they moved to the United States.

Her dad put aside money for her to take singing and dancing lessons.

Saki once shared in an interview that she came from a poor Japanese background and was looking at bettering her life in the United States with her family.

I was raised in Japan, came here, English is my second language, but I knew at the age of four that I was going to be a performer. We were very poor, and probably my psyche wanted to be somebody else. To have a brighter life and an entertaining life,” she said.

Saki also took up several roles in numerous movies including Policewomen, History of the World, Part I, Meteor, Splash, Victims for Victims: The Theresa Saldana Story, Man Rots from the Head, and more.

She also starred in several tv series including Good Times, CHiPs, The Greatest American Hero, Gimme a Break!, and Without a Trace.
