Edie Landau Obituary

Edie Landau was an American film and television producer and executive. Edie Landau passed away on December 24, 2022, at the age of 95.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, she died “peacefully” of natural causes on December 24 at her Century City home.

Edie Landau grew up in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Rose and Harry Rudolph former president of the Eastern Basketball League.

She graduated from Wilkes University with a B.A. in Education. Landau relocated to New York City in 1948, where she worked as a production coordinator for Phillips H. Lord, on popular radio shows such as Gangbusters and Mr. District Attorney, among others.

Edie Landau joined the National Telefilm Associates. Landau rose to the position of executive vice president, overseeing original programming such as The Play of the Week, The Mike Wallace Show, The David Susskind Show, and Open End.

Throughout her career, she played a variety of roles, including equal rights advocate, when she helped change restrictions that prevented women from boarding all-male passenger planes in 1958.

After decades of producing films and television, she attended the University of West Los Angeles School of Law and was admitted to the California State Bar in 1982. She later published several poems as well.
