Eddie Olczyk siblings: Who is Rick Olczyk?

Eddie Olczyk’s younger brother is Rick Olczyk, an American ice hockey executive and assistant general manager of the Seattle Kraken. Rick formerly served as the Edmonton Oilers’ associate general manager for six seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL).

Rick, who was born on March 10, 1970, spent six seasons as the Edmonton Oilers’ assistant general manager before joining the Hurricanes.

He joined the Oilers’ hockey operations team in 2007 as director of hockey administration and legal affairs, acting as Edmonton’s interface to the NHL on all NHL Collective Bargaining Agreement issues.

On September 11, 2009, he was appointed to assistant general manager of the Oilers, a post he maintained until April 21, 2014, when he was replaced by Bill Scott.

Rick, a Brown University graduate from 1992, received his J.D. from Cornell Law School in 1996.

He played four seasons of Division I hockey at Brown and was the Bears’ captain his senior year.

He was a member of the Brown Bears men’s ice hockey team for four seasons (1988-1992), where he was named to the 1991-92 Academic All-Ivy Team.

Rick also led the United States Under-17 National Team to a silver medal in the 1986 World Cup.
