Ed Winter, the Deputy L.A. County Coroner handled some of the biggest celebrity fatalities.
Ed departed from the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office after nearly 17 years as the face of innumerable Celebrity death investigations.
Winter’s first case as a coroner was the death of actress and model Lana Clarkson in February 2003.

When Michael Jackson died in 2009, Ed was left to sign the death certificate when Dr. Conrad Murray ‘fled’ the UCLA Medical Center scene. This was one of his most serious investigations.

After his success in the Michael Jackson investigation, Ed Winter was assigned to investigate Whitney Houston’s murder, which occurred in 2012, just seconds before Clive Davis’s pre-Grammy celebration.
The Whitney case in 2012 was also a career-defining milestone for Winter since he had become so well-known that Dionne Warwick, a Houston family member, recognized him when he arrived on the scene.
On social media, a lot of people who recalled the coroner for his investigations expressed their sympathies.
