” I always felt that she could be cryptic.” There was a secrecy, and darkness, to her. I’m not sure why, but it’s like she wasn’t destined for happiness. And she deserved it more than anybody.”

Speaking to USA TODAY after Moore’s death, Ed Asner said:

“I loved her. The world loved her — and it should have. She was an inspiration to women and she was a good example as a human being. And, of course, she was a fighter.”

Ed Asner was best known for his character Lou Grant, who was first introduced on The Mary Tyler Moore Show in 1970. Ed Asner died of natural causes in California on the morning of August 29, 2021, at the age of 91.
