Eamonn Holmes OBE is a Northern Irish broadcaster and former journalist. Holmes co-hosted GMTV for twelve years, from 1993 to 2005, before hosting Sky News Sunrise for eleven years, from 2005 to 2016.

Holmes contributes a column to The People newspaper. His autobiography was published in May 2006.
The book is titled This is My Life, a reference to another famous Irish Eamonn, Eamonn Andrews, after whom he was named.
The book reveals some of what happened behind the scenes during his time at GMTV.

“My four great brothers and I say farewell to our beautiful mum Josie for the last time this afternoon,” TV presenter Eamonn wrote on social media.

“She’s finally reunited with her father. That is our only solace.
“We loved her and shall miss her very much,” the broadcaster added.
“Every time I went to see her, she would come to the door and bless me with holy water before waving farewell.
“Now, regretfully, it’s Goodbye Mummy x.”
In a 2019 interview with Best magazine, he said his late father Leonard referred to his mother as “The Queen,” and she was such a role model for him and his four brothers that he and his four brothers knew their partners, including his television co-host wife Ruth Langsford, would have a lot to live up to.
He stated: “Their responsibilities were clearly established. He worked and she managed the household. And what an excellent job she did!
“She established a nearly impossible standard for any of us males to measure our future brides against. Although money was tight, standards were bountiful.
