Sujith is a cricket coach and had taught Dushan the game of cricket from an early age of seven.
Sujith had convinced his son to to bowl leg-spin, as against being an offspinner. He had guided Dushan all through his career.

Presently, Dushan represents Dambulla Aura, showcasing his commitment to the sport.
In 2024, he is set to join the Sylhet Strikers, venturing into the thrilling world of T20 cricket.
Dushan’s international career took off in January 2023 when he earned a spot in the Sri Lanka A squad for the series against the England Lions.
His rise continued, and he made his One Day International (ODI) debut in June 2023, representing Sri Lanka against Afghanistan.
