Drummie Zeb was born to a Grenadian immigrant couple in London. He studied at Holland Park school in London where he met his bandmates, Tony Robinson and Brinsley Forde.

They became the first British reggae group to sign with an international label, signing up with Island Records in the 1970s.

Drummie Zeb served as a record producer for other artists like Ace Base whose 1994 rendition of the single, Don’t Turn Around became a global hit. He also produced Vanessa-Mae, Caroll Thompson and others.
