Douglas Kirkland, a Canadian-born American photographer whose celebrity portraits became idolized for being nearly as iconic as the celebrities themselves, and whose photographs documented some of the most important film shoots in Hollywood history had an estimated net worth of $7 million at time of death.

Born on August 16, 1934, the celebrity photographer passed away on October 2, 2022 at age 88.
Kirkland’s portraits of the biggest stars of the 20th and 21st centuries, including Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Mick Jagger, Andy Warhol, Elizabeth Taylor, Charlie Chaplin, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Leonardo DiCaprio and Brigitte Bardot have been a mainstay in Hollywood.

Aside capturing celebrities with his artistic mind, he was also the special photographer on more than 150 films including;

Kirkland was also an author and his book Titanic became the first ever photography book to reach number one on the New York Times Best Seller list.
Kirkland won numerous awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American motion pictures Society of Operating Cameramen in 1995.
