English choreographer Douglas William Squires OBE MVO was most recognized for his work in television beginning in the middle of the 1950s. He was a Nottingham native.

The Dougie Squires Dancers, Dougie Squires’ Second Generation, and The Dougie Squires Dozen are some of the ensembles he has choreographed on television.
Along with his TV job, he has performed in plays and participated in fundraising activities. He received the Order of the British Empire in 2009 for his contributions to the performing arts, and in the 2017 New Year’s Honours, he was named a Member of the Royal Victorian Order (MVO) for his choreography and stage directing of royal pageants.
