Dori Monson, known for his afternoon talk show The Dori Monson Show in Seattle, Washington, died on December 31, 2022, at the age of 61.

According to Kiro News Radio, he died in a Seattle hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest. He had some health issues in recent years, but he still enjoyed deep sea fishing and playing pickleball.

Dori Monson has hosted the KIRO-FM show since 1995, taking over for Dave Ross, who moved to the 9 a.m. to noon morning slot.

The Dori Monson Show, also known as The Big Show, was a primarily political talk-radio programme. It was the highest-rated talk show in the Seattle-Tacoma market at times.

In 2008, Monson was nominated for Radio & Records News/Talk/Sports Local Personality Of The Year.

In 2018, he was one of five finalists for the Marconi Award for Large Market Personality of the Year from the National Association of Broadcasters. Dori Monson’s wife, Suzanne Monson, and their three daughters survive him.
