Jason Shannon Acuña best known by his stage name Wee Man, is an American stunt performer, television personality, professional skateboarder, and actor.

Wee Man is one of the stars of Jackass and the host of Fox Sports Net’s skateboarding show 54321.

Wee Man was the subscription manager for the skateboard magazine Big Brother and as a result of his association with that magazine, he became involved with the Jackass television series in 2000.

Wee Man’s Jackass antics include skating as an Oompa-Loompa, kicking himself in the head, dressing as a king while rolling Johnny Knoxville down a staircase in a red carpet, and doing deep-knee bends while holding basketball star Shaquille O’Neal on his back.

How did Wee Man get his name?

As a young skateboarder in Torrance, California, in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Jason Acuña began attracting attention, both for his age and his size — not to mention a big, attention-loving personality.

At the time, the local Torrance skateboard company was World Industries, and Acuña and his friends would try to score free merchandise at the company warehouse (via Jenkem Magazine).

Opened in 1987 by professional skateboarders Steve Rocco and Rodney Mullen, World Industries billed itself as the first skateboard company operated by and for skaters.

According to the story, Steve Rocco’s brother Sal gave Acuña his nickname, shouting “Hey everyone! Wee Man is here!” whenever Acuña would come around.

Why is Wee Man short?

Wee Man’s height is 4ft 0.5in and he is short because he has achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism.

Achondroplasia is a genetic condition affecting a protein in the body called the fibroblast growth factor receptor.

This protein begins to function abnormally, slowing down the growth of bone in the cartilage of the growth plate.
