Minecraft YouTuber Technoblade has passed away at age 23 after a battle with cancer.

Technoblade revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer in August 2021.

Prior to his death, he revealed in a video that while battling cancer in his right arm, doctors presented him the option to completely amputate the affected arm.

Technoblade managed to avoid the amputation.

It can be recalled that in August 2021, Technoblade announced that the reason he hadn’t been active on YouTube was due to a cancer diagnosis in his right arm.

Since then, Technoblade managed to upload only a uploaded a handful of videos.

Despite that, he managed to help raise over $300,000 for cancer research during a Minecraft stream. Fellow Minecraft YouTuber and collaborator Dream even donated $20,000 for cancer research as well.

Technoblade battled cancer up until his death in June 2022.

Technoblade’s death was announced by his father on YouTube in a video titled “so long nerds” on Thursday, June 30, 2022.

In the video, posted on June 30, Techno’s father narrated a final, posthumous message titled “so long nerds,” written for such an occasion.

The video had Technoblade’s trademark dry and often dark humor, but also acts as one final ‘thank you’ to everyone who supported the Minecraft star over the years.

Techno said;

“Thank you all for supporting my content over the years. If I had another 100 lives, I think I would choose to be Technoblade again every single time. As those were the happiest years of my life.”
