The couple operated a boarding house in Gloucester, England, where they tortured, raped, and murdered young women and girls, some of whom were their own daughters.

The bodies of many of the victims were buried in the garden or beneath the house. In 1995, Rosemary West was convicted of 10 counts of murder and sentenced to life in prison.

Her husband, Fred West, committed suicide while awaiting trial. The crimes committed by Rosemary and Fred West have been described as some of the most heinous in British history.
