Russian mixed martial artist, Khabib Nurmagomedov, married Patimat in June 2013 and they have three children- a daughter and two sons.

During an interview in 2018, Khabib’s father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov revealed that Khabib is married to a “distant relative”. Besides, Patimat Nurmagomedova had the same surname before they got married.

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov had also emphasized that Patimat Nurmagomedova’s family is an “excellent one”.

Khabib Nurmagomedov was born in Sildi, Dagestan, and his wife hails from the same place as well.

Khabib Nurmagomedov and his family later moved from Sildi to Kirovaul and then subsequently settled in Makhachkala, where he continued training and went on to achieve greatness in MMA.

Khabib and his family are widely revered in the Islamic world for their austere religious beliefs. Khabib is a Sunni Muslim and is regarded as one of the most influential personalities in the Islamic world today.

A two-time Combat Sambo World Champion, Khabib has a background in the disciplines of sambo, judo, and wrestling.

He was ranked #1 in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings at the time of his retirement, until being removed following his title vacation in March 2021. Fight Matrix ranks him as the #1 lightweight of all time.

Hailing from the Republic of Dagestan in Russia, Khabib is the first Muslim to win a UFC title. He is the most-followed Russian on Instagram, with more than 33 million followers as of February 2022.

He is also a mixed martial arts (MMA) promoter, known for promoting the Eagle Fighting Championship (EFC). Since retirement, he has transitioned to a mixed martial arts coach and cornerman.

In 2021, he signed a contract to play association football for the Russian team FC Legion Dynamo.
