Born with a passion for music, Segarra’s journey into the world of singing began at a Latino Pentecostal church, where he learned the art and received accolades for his vocal abilities.
During his formative years, Segarra’s singing talent garnered attention through solo performances in his middle school chorus and at church gatherings.
His dedication to honing his skills led him to become the lead singer of an ‘A Capella’ group called ‘Top Notch’ during his high school years. The group, which he fronted, even had the unique opportunity to perform for the governor of Florida.
Segarra’s inclination towards musical expression extended beyond the confines of his school and church. He actively participated in various musical productions during his youth, taking on roles such as the ‘Cowardly Lion’ in ‘The Wizard of Oz,’ ‘Ren McCormick’ in ‘Footloose,’ ‘Harold Hill’ in ‘The Music Man,’ and ‘Nick Piazza’/’Joe Vegas’ in ‘Fame: The Musical.’

His performances were not only appreciated by audiences but also earned him theatrical awards, including the prestigious ‘Best of Show in Duet Musical’ at the ‘Florida Thespian State Competition.’
Upon completing his schooling, Segarra pursued his passion for the arts at the ‘Tisch School of Arts’ at the ‘New York University.’ Here, he continued to immerse himself in both music and theater, showcasing his versatility.
He contributed his vocal talents as the featured rapper for the New York University’s premier ‘A Capella’ group, ‘N’Harmonics,’ where he beatboxed and sang.
Segarra’s journey into professional musical theater reached a significant milestone when he originated the role of Emilio Estefan in the Broadway musical ‘On Your Feet!,’ which opened at the Marquis Theater on November 5, 2015.
His charismatic and impactful portrayal earned accolades, marking another chapter in his multifaceted career. His final performance in ‘On Your Feet!’ took place on July 10, 2016, leaving an indelible mark on the Broadway stage.
