Joan Lunden and her husband Jeff Konigsberg had two sets of twins: Jack Andrew and Kimberly Elise (born in 2005) and Kate Elizabeth and Max Aaron (born in 2003).

Joan Lunden currently hosts Health Corner, a series sponsored by Walgreens on Lifetime, and serves as the spokesperson for A Place for Mom, a national senior care referral service.

Joan Lunden has been recognized for her dedication to motherhood and has received several awards in this regard, including being voted “Career Mother of the Year” by the National Institute of Infant Services and “Mother of the Year” by the National Mother’s Day Committee.
Joan Lunden has also served as a national spokesperson for Mothers Against Drunk Driving. In addition to her work in journalism, Lunden hosted ABC’s broadcast of the Rose Parade in Pasadena, California from 1989 to 1991.
Joan Lunden has received numerous accolades for her contributions to the broadcasting field, including being honoured with a Matrix Award by New York Women in Communications in 1991.
