Thor: Love and Thunder is a 2022 American superhero movie based on Marvel Comics that stars the character Thor. It is the follow-up to Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and the 29th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Jane Foster is seen battling cancer in Thor: Love and Thunder. She looks for Mjolnir, which is on display in New Asgard as part of a tourist attraction, to find a cure. She becomes The Mighty Thor after bonding with Mjolnir there.
Jane is no longer impacted by cancer as Mighty Thor, but there is a limitation to her powers. Her condition deteriorates each time she transforms back into a human.

In comic books, Jane had cancer. Jane Foster told Thor she has breast cancer in THOR: GOD OF THUNDER (2012) #12. Marvel Studios kept the character’s storyline in Love and Thunder in line with the comics.
