Thor: Thunder and Love depict Jane battling cancer. She looks for Mjolnir, which is on display in New Asgard as part of a tourist attraction, to find a cure.

She becomes The Mighty Thor after bonding with Mjolnir there. She can only defeat Gorr by destroying the Necrosword with Mjolnir.

Jane loses her powers when Gorr’s weapon is destroyed by Mjolnir, and she becomes too ill to live.

In the post-credits scene, Jane arrives at an unidentified location and is greeted by Heimdall. He confirms her death and tells her she is in Valhalla, the paradise-like afterlife reserved for Asgardian warriors and gods.

What happened to Jane Foster in comics?

In the comics, Jane sacrificed Mjolnir to kill Mangog, risking her life in the process (“Mighty Thor” Vol. 2 #705), However,  she was revived by Odin and Thor, after which she gradually beat cancer and ultimately became a Valkyrie.

Does Jane Foster become immortal?

In the 84th issue of Journey into Mystery, Jane received immortality. However, Odin later stripped her of those abilities because he thought she lacked the courage to use them, and he sent her back to Earth with no memory of her time on Asgard.
