The street “Donald Driver Way”, was renamed after the mayor of Green Bay awarded Driver with a key to the city and erected a receiver statue with a No. 80 (Driver’s jersey) in front of the former Packers Hall of Fame.

Driver’s nickname is Quickie/Double D, which was given to him by his mother because she often chased him around the house but never caught him.

Donald Driver Football Career

Donald Driver played for the Green Bay Packers from 1999 to 2012, and became one of their all-time leading receivers.

He had won Super Bowl XLV with the Packers before retiring.

After being drafted by the Packers as 213th overall in the seventh round of the 1999 NFL Draft, Driver went ahead to set a record of most career receptions and most career receiving yards.

He was also selected to the Pro Bowl five times (2002, 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2010).

Outside of football, Driver has been involved in charitable activities. In 2013, he received the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year Award for his off-the-field philanthropic efforts.

Driver officially retired from professional football in 2012, and was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in 2017.
