Dennis Waterman owned a pub. He relaunched the pub and attended the event with his team in August 2012. He and his business partner, Martin Flood had taken the pub on after visiting it as customers.

The pub named Emperor was run by a couple, Andy and Lynn Foulkes, from North Wales. A few years after the pub started its operation, it emerged that The City Pub Company bought the Pub with plans to renovate and possible expand the premises.

It was understood that Radmore Farm Shop, which used to be next door to The Waterman, relocated to Victoria Avenue earlier that month to make room for an expansion by the new company.
In a separate development, Waterman has reportedly passed on in a hospital in Spain on May 8. The cause of his death is yet to be established.
