American actor, David Corenswet can speak Mandarin, but not extremely fluent. He learned the language due to his role as River in Netflix’s popular show, The Politician.

He once shared that he was anxious about the scene where he’d speak the language and had to go back and forth with co-star Gwyneth.
“We were both really extremely stressed out about it! We had a great coach but it was just me and her trying to stumble through,” he said.

Corenswet was announced as a cast member of the Apple + TV show, Lady in the Lake set to be directed by Alma Har’el. He is also set to play the lead role in The Answers. He will play the role of Christopher Skye, a charismatic but troubled movie star involved in an enigmatic, futuristic dating experiment.
He was cast as a co-lead actor in the tv series The Tap. After graduating from college, his debut film was Affairs of State when he starred as Michael Lawson in 2018. He also appeared as a guest star in several films and tv series including House of Cards, Instincts, Elementary, and more.
