Bryn Terfel is a world-renowned Welsh bass-baritone opera singer.  Bryn Terfel still performs in 2023.

Terfel performed a setting of Kyrie Eleison in Welsh for the Coronation of Charles III and Camilla in May 2023.

Bryn Terfel’s career took off in the early 1990s when he won the Kathleen Ferrier Award in 1989 and the Cardiff Singer of the World competition in 1992.

Since then, he has become one of the most sought-after opera singers of his generation, performing in some of the world’s most prestigious opera houses, including the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the Vienna State Opera.

Terfel has also excelled in the works of Mozart, Verdi, and Puccini, as well as in traditional Welsh songs and folk music. Terfel has released numerous recordings, including albums of opera arias, Welsh songs, and Broadway standards.

In addition to his performing career, he has been involved with several charitable organizations, including the Welsh National Opera, the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and the Prince’s Trust.

In recognition of his contributions to music, Terfel has been awarded numerous honours, including the CBE, the DBE, and the Queen’s Medal for Music.
