Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev is the child of Russian-American professional dancer, specializing in Latin dancing, Artem Chigvintsev and his wife Nikki Bella, an American professional wrestler and TV personality currently signed to WWE working as an ambassador.

Chigvintsev and Bella were partners on Season 25 Dancing with the Stars and they began dating in January 2019 and they announced their engagement on January 3, 2020.
On January 29, 2020, Bella announced that she is expecting her first child [with Chigvintsev], alongside her twin sister Brie, who announced her own second pregnancy the same day.

On June 11, 2020, durint the season five finale of Total Bellas, Bella announced that the baby’s sex is a boy.
She gave birth to Artem Chigvintsev’s son Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev on July 31, 2020.
Prior to his involvement with Nikki Bella, Chigvintsev was involved in two high profile relationships.
He was married to his dancing partner, Giselle Peacock, from 2004 to 2005, after which he dated Carrie Ann Inaba from 2006 to 2008.
