Dodger Stadium Home Run Distance: How many home runs have been hit out of Dodger Stadium?

Six home runs have been hit out of the Dodger Stadium. Two of those home runs were hit by Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Willie Stargell.

On August 5, 1969, Stargell hit a 507-foot (155-meter) home run off Dodgers pitcher Alan Foster that cleared the right field pavilion and struck a bus parked outside the stadium.

The second home run was hit on May 8, 1973,  when Stargell hit a 470-foot (140-meter) home run off Andy Messersmith that landed on the right field pavilion roof and bounced into the parking lot.

On September 21, 1997, Dodger catcher Mike Piazza hit the third 478-foot (146 m) home run off Frank Castillo of the Colorado Rockies that landed on the left field pavilion roof, skipped under the left field video board, and into the parking lot.

On May 22, 1999, St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Mark McGwire hit a 483-foot (147-meter) home run off Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Jamie Arnold.

On May 12, 2015, Miami Marlins’ Giancarlo Stanton hit a 478-foot (146 m) home run off Mike Bolsinger and most recently, on September 30, 2021, Fernando Tats Jr. hit a ball out of the stadium off the top of the left field pavilion roof.
