She is married to Graham Swift and they have four children; Rafferty Swift, Charlie Swift, Billy Swift and Laurie Swift.

Beeny’s sons attend an independent school in Somerset.

Born on 9 January 1972 in Reading, Berkshire, Sarah was educated as a weekly boarder at the all-girls Luckley-Oakfield School in Wokingham.

She did not attend university as she was encouraged to study drama by her English teacher.

She heeded her teacher’s advice and took a leading role in Brecht’s Caucasian Chalk Circle.

Pursuing the idea of becoming a professional actress, she studied drama at Queen Mary’s College, Basingstoke, but was unable to get into a drama school.

At age 17, Beeny began travelling around the world alone.

Despite the experiences she gathered from the travels, she often felt “lonely and seasick” most of the way round.

As a result, she returned to the UK to take a series of jobs. She worked for;

Save the Children; window-cleaning; door-to-door vacuum cleaner-selling and running her own sandwich-making business

After several years of working, she saved up a deposit and despite the absence of a formal training, she began her own property-developing business with her brother and her husband.
