DJ Kay Slay Vaccine: Was DJ Kay Slay Vaccinated?

In January 2022, hip-hop promoter and producer Van Silk said that DJ Kay Slay hadn’t been vaccinated.

“Pray for my brotha @djkayslay It’s not looking good,” Wack 100 wrote. “He might be mad at me for this those that know Slay but he needs all the support he can get … Been 14 days fighting Covid and he’s just be put on a ventilator”, he wrote on social media.

DJ Kay Slay died on Easter Sunday at the age of 55, months after being hospitalised with Covid-19.

In December, DJ Slay’s brother Kwame Grayson spoke about his condition as he admitted that the record executive was unwell but was on the mend.

‘He was slowly fading away, but God didn’t let that happen, he told DX at the time. ‘So he’s up and going. He’s like in a recovery state, but he’s definitely not going to die.’

DJ Slay was a graffiti artist before he pursued a career in music and featured in the 1983 hip-hop documentary Style Wars, which looked at the hip-hop subculture across New York.
