The DJ died on May 2 during his family’s first stop in Paris on a tour that was intended to culminate with the group traveling to the Eurovision in Liverpool, which takes place next week, according to Adelaide publication The Advertiser.
Beginning in the 1980s, the versatile nightclub DJ grew into a pop culture specialist, record store owner, music journalist and photographer.

He gained a following by spinning records at several clubs, including Limbo in the 1980s and Heaven and his own Pop! night on Gouger St in the 1990s.
His interviews, reviews, and images appeared in a variety of magazines and music websites, and he played at the Big Day Out festival on a monthly basis.
Bell’s wife Jordan, their daughter Ruby, and his sisters Susan and Janet survive him.
