Nishia Jackson is the girlfriend of DJ baby. She is known in the Houston LGBTQ scene. She got her start in 1997 as part of a performance group called, Da Divaz.

She gained fame by performing with Da Divaz in some of Houston’s biggest clubs before becoming a full-time assistant to her mentor, drag performer, Cookie LaCook.
Nishia has one child who she mentioned in an interview that she would soon be an LSU graduate. Nishia has three degrees in communication, education and counselling.

About a week after the death of her girlfriend, DJ Baby, Jackson shared a Facebook post explaining what happened to her.
The night if the accident, Nishia said her girlfriend had been drinking and dropped off at her place by an associate. To prevent her from driving him, she let her stay over.
Within minutes of being dropped off, Lewis apparently ran to the patrio on the balcony of her girlfriend’s 13th floor apartment, “climbed on the patrio chair and fell off” before she could be saved.
