DJ Casper, real name Willie Perry Jr., was a legendary songwriter and DJ. The late celebrity was nicknamed “Casper” because he was regularly seen on stage dressed in pure white.
He stated in 2016 that he had kidney and liver cancer, and he died from the condition on August 7, 2023. Perry earlier told ABC7 that he was having problems eating and was losing a lot of weight.
DJ Casper invented the infamous Cha Cha Slide, which has become one of the most popular line dances in history.

It was released in August 2000 and spent five weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It remained a worldwide smash for four years, topping the UK Singles Chart in March 2004.
