DJ Azonto Demands $10 Million from Bawumia for Unauthorized Use of His Song

Ghanaian musician DJ Azonto’s management team is demanding $10 million in compensation from Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the unauthorized use of DJ Azonto’s hit song “Fa No Fom” during the Vice President’s presidential campaign events.

In a press statement by the Rolls Royce Family, the team revealed that the song was used without consent at a campaign event in Nalerigu, North East Region. The issue gained widespread attention after a video featuring the unauthorized use went viral on social media.

The management team emphasized the importance of respecting creative rights and intellectual property laws. They stressed that this infringement disregards the legal rights of DJ Azonto and his team, undermining the efforts and creativity invested in producing the song.

“In light of this infringement, we demand a compensation of $10 million. This amount reflects the value of the work and the damages incurred to the artiste and management due to its misuse in such a high-profile campaign. We also emphasize the importance of respecting our copyright laws and intellectual property rights,” the statement added.
