S. Balbir Singh Dosanjh and Sukhwinder Kaur are the parents of Diljit Dosanjh.

Balbir Singh is a former employee of Punjab Roadways and Diljit Dosanjh’s mother, Sdn. Sukhvinder Kaur is a homemaker.
Dijlit Dosanjh was born on 6th January 1984 to a Sikh family in the village Dosanjh Kalan in Phillaur Tehsil, Jalandhar District, Punjab.
Dijlit spent his early childhood in Dosanjh Kalan and then moved to Ludhiana for his graduation in high school named Guru Harkrishan Public School.

While he was still in school, he started to look upon his singing career by performing kirtan at local gurudwaras.
From a ground zero level to touching the sky, he is today a songwriter, singer, actor and television presenter in the Punjabi and Hindi film Industry.
Dosanjh started an NGO called Saanjh Foundation focusing on underprivileged children and seniors, contributing to orphanages and old age homes.
It also endeavours youth empowerment with issues like self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring, and career development.
