According to reports, the area where Perry inserted his finger is about the size of a half-dollar coin. According to Chris Ivy, Heritage’s head of sports auctions, Perry sold the ring to a collector in 2000 and guaranteed its authenticity. Ivy stated that this most recent bidder has donated the ring to the Heritage auction for Thursday’s sale. In 2007, that collector sold the ring in an auction for more than $27,000.
