Brazilian former racing driver Tony Kanaan won the Indianapolis 500 in 2013 and the IndyCar Series championship in 2004.

Tony Kanaan completed 3,305 laps that season, becoming the first IndyCar Series driver to complete every possible lap in a season. He also set an IndyCar Series record by leading 889 laps in 13 different races.
Tony Kanaan is also the only driver to have led the Indianapolis 500 in all seven of his starts, and he won his first race on his 12th attempt. Kanaan has 17 IndyCar Series race wins and 15 pole positions in his career. Kanaan also won the 24 Hours of Daytona for Chip Ganassi Racing in 2015.

He became the first Brazilian driver to win the prestigious event, adding another milestone to his illustrious career. Kanaan’s success also solidified his status as one of the most respected and talented drivers in IndyCar racing, earning him a place among the sport’s legends.
In 2021, Kanaan entered four races of the Superstar Racing Experience, an all-star stock car racing series. His best results were 7th at Stafford and Eldora.
