Who Is Tom Waits?

Tim Waits is a musician, composer and actor, born on December 7, 1949, in Pomona, California.

As far back as the 1970s, Waits performed mainly jazz, but in the 1980s, switched to blues, rock, and vaudeville.

To Waits, his voice is “the sand in the sandwich”. His role models in the industry include the likes of Richard Buckley, Bob Dylan and the Beat Generation.

Some of his musical works include Closing Time (1973), The Heart of Saturday Night (1974), Small Change (1976), Blue Valentine (1978), and Heartattack and Vine (1980).

Others are I Hope That I Don’t Fall in Love With You, Hell Broke Luce, I Don’t Wanna Grow Up, Hold On, and Underground.

He had composed music for the film One from the Heart (1981), and made a brief appearance in many Coppola films.

Wait is amongst the “100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time”, according to Rolling Stone. In 2011, he became a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer.
