Did they use body doubles in 50 shades of Grey?

Fifty Shades of Grey is a British-American film trilogy series based on English author E. L. James’s Fifty Shades trilogy. Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan star in the lead roles, which are distributed by Universal Studios.

According to the actors, filming the sex scenes was uncomfortable. Jamie Dornan had to wear a wee bag and Dakota Johnson had to put on a sticky thong. Dakota has admitted that the sex scenes are “never easy” or “fun” to film.

In addition to wee bags and sticky thongs, much of the nudity in the films was achieved through the use of body doubles and creative post-production magic, which was unusual for cinematographer Seamus McGarvey.

Dakota did have a butt double. Jamie Dornan had a body double for some of the more revealing scenes in the first film, Fifty Shades of Grey, according to the Telegraph.

The body double was a Canadian model named Peter James, who may reprise his role as Dornan in the sequel.
