Did The Bangles play their own instruments?

American pop rock band, The Bangles have been questioned several times if they are the ones who play their own instruments. Lead guitarist, Vicki Peterson, once shared that they have been playing their own instruments for a long time and they find it very strange why they are always questioned.

”We have always played our instruments. Anybody who knows us knows that. We’ve always had additional instrumentalists on the records, but so did the Rolling Stones, and nobody says ‘Oh, did Keith Richards play that solo?’ We’ve always been writing. Yes, we have accepted outside material – big deal. They were good songs, we wanted to do them. We’re not stupid, we hear good songs, we’re gonna want to do it,” she said.

Rhythm guitarist, Susanna Hoffs also shared;

”The whole concept of the band was just to be a band, people who write songs and play music together, not to be like Elvis impersonator or something,” she shared.
