Did Pam Hupp Kill Her Mother?

Pamela Marie Hupp is an American woman who on August 16, 2016, murdered Louis Gumpenberger, a crime for which she is serving a life sentence.

Louis Gumpenberger, who suffered from severe mental and physical impairments, was shot to death in Hupp’s home in O’Fallon, Missouri.

Initially, Pam Hupp claimed that she had shot Gumpenberger in self-defense after he pursued her into her home wielding a knife. However, her claims were not accepted by law enforcement.

Pam Hupp eventually entered an Alford guilty plea before charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action could go to trial.

Pam Hupp has also been investigated in connection with the death of her mother, Shirley Neumann, who died in 2013 from injuries sustained in a fall from the balcony of her third-floor apartment in Fenton, Missouri.

However, Pam Hupp’s mum’s death was initially ruled an accident.

But in November 2017, the chief medical examiner for St. Louis County changed the cause of death to “undetermined”, referencing the events in O’Fallon and Troy.

An investigation into Pam Hupp’s mum’s death by the St. Louis County Police Department was sadly inconclusive, making Pam Hupp’s mum’s death an unsolved mystery.
