Australia’s professional dual-code rugby coach and former player Michael Cheika (born 4 March 1966) has served as Argentina’s head coach since 2022. From 2014 until 2019, Cheika served as the Australia rugby union team’s head coach.

He was given the World Rugby Coach of the Year honor in 2015. Having won the Heineken Cup with Leinster in 2009 and Super Rugby with the New South Wales Waratahs in 2014, he is the only coach to have achieved this feat.

Cheika has served as the head coach at Padova, Randwick, and Stade Français throughout his career. Cheika is an Australian-Lebanese of second generation; his parents arrived in Australia in the 1950s. Cheika was named director of rugby for the Green Rockets of the Japanese Rugby Union in May 2021.
