Kellie Pickler got to see her mother but she didn’t get to spend enough time with her because her mother was abusive and kept disappearing.

Pickler’s mother abandoned her when she was three, following a divorce from her father.
She had to live with her grandparents because her dad was in prison.
Even though at some point Pickler’s mum was granted custody of her, she returned to her grandparents home due to severe physical assaults she suffered from her mother.

Kellie Pickler is a country music singer, songwriter, and TV personality, known for the hit single “Red High Heels”.
Born on June 28, 1986, in North Carolina, Pickler came to prominence after she participated in the fifth season of the American Idol.

Later on, Pickler got signed to 19 Recordings and BNA Records, and released her first album, Small Town Girl, which sold over 900,000 copies.

The album contained three of her hit songs – “Red High Heels”, “I Wonder”, “Things That Never Cross a Man’s Mind”, which ranked tops on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.
Pickler’s second album was released in 2008 and contained four major hits – “Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful”, “Best Days of Your Life”, “Didn’t You Know How Much I Loved You”, and “Makin’ Me Fall in Love Again”.
Pickler has been ranked the 14th best American Idol alumna, and has worked with the likes of Taylor Swift and many other star artistes.
In 2013, Pickler won the 16th season of Dancing with the Stars, together with her partner, Derek Hough, and three years down the line, she was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame.
As a TV presenter, Pickler played co-host on the daytime TV talk show Pickler & Ben with comedian Ben Aaron.
