Josh Donaldson was also sidelined by right shoulder inflammation while with Toronto from April 11 to May 3, 2018. In 2007, Donaldson was named a Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American.

In his first minor league season, Josh Donaldson played 53 games for the Rookie Arizona League Cubs and Short Season-A Boise Hawks. He batted a combined .335 with nine home runs and 25 RBIs.
