Jeezy spent the last year mourning the loss of his mother who passed away in January 2021.

When Jeezy was a child, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where he lived with different family members, as a result of his parents separating. He lived in Hawkinsville, Georgia, at 600 N Lumpkin.
Jeezy and his mother rekindled their relationship years after he left her home at about 11 years old and began selling drugs out of his grandma’s house. He recalled leaving home as a child because his mom was battling drug addiction.

He lived in Macon, Georgia at an older age, where he befriended many Crip gang members and even affiliated himself with the Crips and stated his affiliation with Kinky B who helped his career along with many others.
In 2001, under the name Lil J, Young Jeezy released his first independent album, Thuggin Under the Influence (T.U.I).
