Gilles Villeneuve did not win the Formula One World Championship. Although he had immense talent and was known for his daring and spectacular driving style, he never secured the championship title during his career in Formula One.

However, he won six races and received widespread acclaim for his efforts. His most memorable victories include the 1979 Canadian Grand Prix and the 1981 Spanish Grand Prix.

Villeneuve competed in Formula One from 1977 until his tragic death in 1982. He died during the qualifying for the 1982 Belgian Grand Prix at Zolder in a 140 mph (230 km/h) crash caused by a collision with the March car driven by Jochen Mass.

While Gilles Villeneuve didn’t win the championship, he remains highly regarded as one of the most talented and charismatic drivers in the history of Formula One, and his legacy continues to inspire racing enthusiasts to this day.
